¶ What You Need
¶ Required Items
- One computer
- One small cooling fan
- One firmware upgrade adapter cable (included in the package)
- One USB Type-A to Type-C data cable
¶ Important Note
If your Ascent Lite air unit is an older version running firmware
16.1.33, you must first update it to16.4.4, and then update it to the latest firmware version. Otherwise, the device may become bricked!!!
We will add a pop-up warning and update restriction in the latest version ofPC Tool. However, this warning is not available if you are using an older version ofPC Tool.
¶ Procedure
¶ Step 1: Connect the Cables
- Connect the firmware upgrade adapter cable to the Air Unit and the computer.
¶ Step 2: Connect the Device
- After connecting the Ascent Air Unit to the computer, the software will identify the device model. Select the device and connect to it.
If the software cannot detect the device, try using a USB 3.0 port or power the Air Unit separately.
¶ Step 3: Confirm the Firmware File
- The device has strict requirements for firmware file names. Using an incorrect file may prevent the device from upgrading properly. Check your product model against the image below and select the correct firmware file.
- For example, for the Ascent Lite Kit, select
Ascent_H_Sky_17_5_8.
¶ Step 4: Start the Upgrade
- Select the firmware file, then confirm to start the upgrade.
¶ Notes
The Air Unit may heat up quickly during the firmware upgrade. It is recommended to use a fan to cool the Air Unit.
When connecting the device to a computer, a USB-C to USB-C cable is not recommended, as the device model may not be detected correctly.
If the device is already running a newer firmware version, do not downgrade the firmware unless necessary. Downgrading may cause the firmware update to fail or, in severe cases, render the device unusable.
