- Use this guide when head tracking is required to control a gimbal or another compatible device.
¶ Connections
¶ GM Series Gimbal Wiring Diagram
- The GM3 V2 is used as an example here. Wiring for other GM Series models is generally similar.
¶ Avatar V2 Air Unit
- The Avatar V2 air unit is used as an example. Most Avatar air units connect to the gimbal using the same wiring method.
¶ Avatar GT V1 Air Unit
- The Avatar GT V1 does not have a dedicated connector for the gimbal. However, a second UART port is available on the air unit PCB and can be used for the connection.
This procedure requires disassembling the air unit and may damage the device if performed incorrectly. Proceed with caution.
¶ Avatar GT V2 Air Unit
When connecting the GT2 air unit to a gimbal, pay attention to the input voltage requirements. The GT air unit requires at least 12 V for normal operation.
¶ Additional Information
- The original Avatar 6S Dual V1 air unit does not support gimbal control. This product has been discontinued.
- Avatar 1S Series air units, including models such as the Nano V3, do not support gimbal connections. These products are designed for compact FPV aircraft where this function is generally not required.
