¶ When to Use this Guide
- When head tracking is required to control a gimbal or other device.
¶ How It Works
- Head tracking uses gyro, accelerometer, and magnetometer data from the receiver unit goggles. The data is transmitted wirelessly to the air unit, which then outputs control signals to the gimbal.
- This function is only supported by
Ascent Lite+.Ascent Litedoes not support it.

¶ Select a Receiver Unit That Supports Head Tracking

- This firmware update module is not included as standard and may need to be purchased separately.
¶ Power Connector
- This depends on your setup. FPV builds typically use an XT60 connector, or the system can be connected to a 12 V, 3 A BEC on the flight controller.
¶ Setup Procedure
¶ Step 1: Update the HD FPV System Firmware
- Update both the receiver unit and air unit of the Ascent system to the latest firmware version.

¶ Step 2: Update the Head Tracking and Gimbal Firmware
- Update the head tracking and gimbal firmware to the latest versions.

¶ Step 3: Connect the Power and Control Cables
¶ Step 4: Install the Camera
- The Lite+ camera requires an adapter to convert the mounting width from 14 mm to 19 mm before it can be installed on the gimbal. Please contact the official CADDXFPV store to purchase the adapter.
¶ Step 5: Configure the Gimbal
¶ GM V1 Series Gimbals
- When using a GM V1 series gimbal, firmware V3.6 requires all control channels to be set to
CH01due to support for the Axis Lock function. - Reduce the gain values appropriately.
¶ GM V2 Series Gimbals
- GM V2 series gimbals require the settings to be changed to support the
Lite+camera.
¶ Notes
When using a GM V1 series gimbal, make sure all control channels are set to
CH01and write the settings to the device. Otherwise, head tracking will not be able to control the gimbal.
